From 9 Months To 45 Days

Data migration and harmonization are hurdles in any M&A, especially when it's a primary growth vehicle.

45 Days

83% Faster Than A Typical 9-Month Span

Every business challenge has a data layer beneath it.

For Wealth Enhancement Group, a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) with $145B+ in Assets Under Management, scaling through acquisition brings data complexity with each deal.

The Challenge: Scaling an M&A Motion

  • No repeatable way to absorb acquired data. Every acquisition surfaced its own systems, documents, and technical infrastructure, evaluated from scratch each time.
  • Deep technical expertise needed on demand, not on staff. The most complex integrations required specialized data and security work that didn't make sense to carry as full-time headcount.
  • Timelines with no room for error. Closing more than one deal a month meant multiple integrations running at once, with no time to build new capability mid-deal.

How They Got There: A Data-First Approach

We embedded directly into Wealth Enhancement Group's acquisition workflow, starting with the same question every time: what does this acquired company's data look like?

From there, we helped build a model that would simplify many of the processes that can slow down acquisitions. That includes passing security posture assessments and creating Python scripting with API tooling to keep a lean team moving quickly.

On one high-complexity deal, that approach took roughly nine months of typical integration work down to about 45 days, without cutting corners on security or continuity. Post-close stabilization closed the loop, with DoubleTrack staying hands-on through the acquired company's IT team until systems, data, and security were fully settled.

This has allowed Wealth Enhancement Group to save investment vs. carrying more expensive, full-time staff to fill roles that we help with as M&As can vary in frequency.

The Result: Scaled Acquisitions

Today, Wealth Enhancement Group manages more than $146 billion in client assets, and that number continues to grow ... including an acquisition pace that would make many organizations stagger.

They have a repeatable model for turning acquired data into a stable, secured, integrated asset on demand, without scaling headcount to match deal volume. As one acquired company's VP of IT, now with Wealth Enhancement Group, put it: “At every pivotal point, DoubleTrack was on the front lines. Within a month, we were all completely locked in and speaking the same language ...  that doesn't happen every day!”

  • 20+ acquisitions per year on a repeatable integration model
  • ~45 days to complete what would normally take about nine months, on one high-stakes deal
  • On-demand specialized technical capacity, without permanent headcount growth

Expertise that scales and provides staffing flexibility? That's a data win.

Data architecture is what makes speed like that possible.
